Lee, Yuan Earn Recognition at Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

Juniors Junhee Lee (pictured left) and Daniel Yuan have earned recognition for two works of writing at the 2019 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, the nation's longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teenagers.

Lee's "Farewell Linda" earned Regional Honorable Mention in the Flash Fiction category; Yuan's "Ideological Tyranny: A Parallel Between 1984 and Totalitarian Theory" earned Regional Honorable Mention in the Critical Essay category.

The list of young writers recognized by The Awards includes Joyce Carol Oates, Stephen King, Truman Capote, John Updike, and Sylvia Plath.
